AV Club: Using Audio/Video Technology

The AV Club is an audio/video club where students learn how to use equipment to make their own audio and video projects.  Students can work on podcasts, music, videos, and any other idea they can think of.  Students are also trained to help school events, where we can provide sound and video assistance to any event.  We have helped with the sound for the student-teacher basketball game, the Talent Show, the school dances, and guest speakers for the school.  We are the schools one-stop source for all audio and video needs, all through talented and trained students who run the equipment and assist in designing a fun and exciting event.

The AV Club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 3 pm, depending on what crew you are on.  See below for more information on the different crews there are.

Do you need the AV Club for an event?  Just click on the purple icon on the left and fill out the google form.  Someone will get back to you as soon as possible to confirm your event requests and gather more information to make sure your event sounds and looks great!  This is only for Memorial Middle School events, we do not do public or private events outside of the school!

The AV Club has a wide variety of equipement that allows for the creation of most forms of media.  We currently have two video production studio's and one audio production studio.  We also have portable production carts that are able to do live events anywhere on the school property.  We have state of the art equipment mixed with vintage equipment for a balance of unique experience for students and staff to work with.  Students learn all aspects of the equipment, from using camera's and mics, to editing and broadcasting.  This is not just a club to play with equipment, we are a working club that provides all of AV needs of the school.

All of our studio's are capable of live video and audio stream on our very own streaming servers.

  • Our audio streaming server can be found at radio.cglandry.com.

  • Our video streaming server can be found at owncast.cglandry.com.

We currently have three different crew teams for the AV Club - our Event's crew, our Production Crew and our Morning Show Crew.

The Events Crew make any event that is needed by the school or the community possible.  Whether that is a school dance with a DJ, laser lights, and a photo booth, or whether it is to live stream the Promotion Ceremony or a School Department event, we can do it all.  Students meet on Tuesday's from 2 to 3pm to learn how to use all equipement needed, practice their skills, and rehearse events.

The Production Crew work on creating videos, promos, and other productions for the school and the community.  Some examples in the past are creating commercials for the School Department, Teacher Observation Videos, assisting teachers and clubs in using the studio space, as well as editing videos or audio for people in the community.  Students meet on Thursdays from 2 to 3pm to learn how to use all equipement needed, and practice their skills.

The Morning Show Crew work on creating our live school announcement news program every morning from 7:30 am to 7:45 am.  The students run the whole show, from setup to break down.  The who is live streamed on our school's video stream as well as on FATV's Civic Streaming channel and public access channel.
