We will be exploring block coding based on Python text coding and how it is used to program software and hardware - such as robots. We will first learn how to use Lego Spike Prime robots where we will create create different types of robots using sensors to complete different tasks.
Students will then explore more complex robots such as Rev robots. This will teach students how to design and build robots with more advanced sensors that are similar to everyday robots we see around us. Students will design a build a robot that can move around the room and get to a checkpoint.
This course will introduce students to building robots using the Legog Spike Prime robots while also teaching them the basics of block coding. Students will learn how to use basic sensors and motors to program a robot to perform simple tasks.
Robots are everywhere. In this course students will learn to build more advanced robots using the REV robots. Students will work with more advanced sensors and motors to create an autonomous robot to move around a room without bumping into obstacles.
This is a supplemental textbook to help students review the forces and motion that is involved in designing and building robots. This textbook reviews forces, motion, and Newton's Laws.
How we solve problems: Use this to help you remember the Engineering Design Process and how we can solve problems!
How you Participate in class: This is a quiz you will do everyday where you will focus on the Learning Target and the Successful Criteria and then turn in every week.
